The Bank’s Retail, Technology and Islamic operations were recognized
The recently held Banker Middle East Industry Awards 2013 witnessed the UAE banking industry gather for the most prestigious awards in the industry. Leading financial institution, Mashreq was a proud recipient of top 3 awards. Winners were chosen based on the institutions' overall performance, innovations, improvements and growth over the last 12 months.
The Bank’s Retail operation was awarded ‘Region’s Best Banking Innovation’s as Mashreq continues to be at the forefront of innovative financial products and solutions in the UAE with product launches such as Mashreq Max, Mashreq GO, Salaam, Snaap, Majestic Loan and the several products designed to give the maximum value to the customers. This recognition reflects the bank’s innovative retail propositions & services offered to customers during the period under review.
Mashreq Al Islami continues to expand its Sharia’h Compliant product offerings to cater to customer requirements and further strengthen its Islamic banking proposition. Mashreq Al Islami has focused on offering a full suite of Sharia’h Compliant products and services, with a host of new products launched for both retail and corporate customers.
Mashreq was also awarded Best Technology Implementation for the Bank’s core banking transformation. The next generation core banking system was previously awarded ‘Best Core Banking Project, Middle East Award for 2012’ by The Asian Banker.
The transition from old to the new systems was done over weekends and in the times of least customer transactions to ensure that customer inconvenience is minimized. The program was designed such that customers could continue to use their existing account numbers, cheque books, debit cards while doing their transactions. The project was delivered through a unique governance structure, with good planning and monitoring of progress that was benchmarked against regional standards and resulted in the project being delivered within the suggested timeframe.
Nominees for the Banker Middle East Award were selected by a panel of banking and financial experts, which were then voted by the readers of Banker Middle East magazine.
